President and CEO David Sanzari and COO Ryan Sanzari Included in NJBIZ’s 2020 Real Estate Power 50 List

Hackensack, N.J. |

Alfred Sanzari Enterprises announces that President and CEO David Sanzari and COO Ryan Sanzari have been named to NJBIZ’s 2020 Real Estate Power 50 list. The NJBIZ Real Estate Power 50 list is selected annually and celebrates the vision and leadership of New Jersey’s most powerful real estate executives and municipal leaders.

Representing the second and third generations of Sanzari family leadership of the company, David and Ryan have been recognized for their stewardship of the 75-year-old company and their commitment to the firm’s timeless foundational ideals that have made it one of the state’s most respected commercial real estate firms.

With a storied history in the real estate industry, David has had a tremendous impact on the organization since joining the family business in 1970 as a laborer in its construction department. Inspired by the strong ideals espoused by his father and company namesake, Alfred Sanzari, David Sanzari has adhered to the highest standards of integrity and trustworthiness throughout his long and distinguished career in commercial real estate and over the years has earned an industry-wide reputation for his commitment to outstanding service and superior construction.

While many commercial real estate companies adopt a strategy of developing and flipping assets to maximize profit, David ensured Alfred Sanzari Enterprises upheld its legacy ownership approach, providing low leverage and ensuring the firm is on a stable long-term financial footing, no matter the economic climate. Additionally, it has been a priority for Sanzari and the organization that any building they acquire or develop must span generations and as a result, the properties in its six-million-square-foot portfolio have become synonymous with quality construction, timeless design, and meticulous management.

Named COO of Alfred Sanzari Enterprises in 2016, Ryan has been able to successfully bridge generations of best practices both in real estate and leadership. As COO, he maintains a steadfast focus on the 75-year-old, family-owned company’s complete life-cycle ownership of their assets by spearheading comprehensive capital improvement projects to continually upgrade and adapt every property to the needs of modern tenants. More than investing in the firm’s vast portfolio, he believes in continually investing in his employees, bringing an encouraging leadership style to his role that energizes employees and draws out their full potential. Under Ryan’s leadership, the firm was named to NJBIZ’s 2020 “Best Places to Work in New Jersey” list. Ryan also initiated and oversaw a sweeping upgrade of the organization’s technology infrastructure, substantially improving operating and financial efficiencies, while enabling a more collaborative workflow enterprise wide. These technological investments and adoptions would prove to be critical in the organization’s navigation of the COVID-19 pandemic, enabling the firm to transition to the remote work environment successfully and quickly.

“For commercial real estate investors and developers, it can often be far too easy to lose sight of the importance of doing business in a manner that leaves a positive impact on those in the communities that we serve,” said David Sanzari, President and CEO at Alfred Sanzari Enterprises. “We are incredibly humbled by this tremendous honor from NJBIZ and we hope it showcases that businesses built around a ceaseless commitment to integrity and trustworthiness can continue to lead the industry forward in an increasingly competitive and challenging landscape.”
