A merger between law firms Pashman Stein P.C. of Hackensack and Roseland-based Walder Hayden P.A. prompted the need for additional office space at Court Plaza South, located at 21 Main Street in Hackensack. The expanded lease commitment boosts the combined firm’s presence by 3,100 square feet to 27,500 square feet on the second and third floors of the Alfred Sanzari Enterprises’ owned and managed office building, where Pashman Stein has been a tenant for almost 14 years.
The transaction was negotiated in-house by Stephen C. Jennings, Alfred Sanzari Enterprises’ vice-president of leasing and marketing. Hope Brodsky of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented the tenant.
The new 45-lawyer full-service business law firm – known as Pashman Stein Walder Hayden – offers a wide range of corporate and personal legal services. The combined firm has a deep bench of lawyers and serves a diverse client base including regional Fortune 500 companies, emerging growth entities and individuals, as well as out-of-state corporate counsel, law firms and individuals with interests in the New York metropolitan region.
Pashman Stein’s Managing Partner Michael Stein will lead the new firm, with the help of executive committee members Sam Samaro, who is chairman of the Employment Group and Sean Mack, who co-chairs the Litigation Group.
“Our combined firm will offer clients the deepest bench in the region for high stakes civil and criminal litigation,” noted Stein. “We are excited about our decision to remain in Court Plaza, not just because we love the building’s amenities and numerous competitive advantages – including a convenient location directly across from the Bergen County Courthouse – but also because we have established a wonderful working relationship with the entire Alfred Sanzari Enterprises team.”
The 335,000-square-foot Court Plaza office complex encompasses Court Plaza North, Court Plaza South and Court Plaza East. All tenants enjoy a landscaped plaza with fountains and seating areas, covered parking, a full-service bank, shoe shine/repair and dry cleaning services, eco-friendly car wash service, a fitness center, public transportation to New York City and Northern N.J., a cafeteria with indoor and outdoor seating, and a common meeting room. Court Plaza is just one mile from I-80, and Routes 4 and 17.
“This lease expansion is a reflection of the Class A environment that Alfred Sanzari Enterprises has created at Court Plaza, as well as our ability to work collaboratively with tenants to accommodate their growth and long-term office space needs,” said Jennings. “We have enjoyed a long relationship with Pashman Stein and are very pleased by their ongoing commitment to the building and confidence in Alfred Sanzari Enterprises. As the firm begins this exciting new chapter, we look forward to being part of its success for many years to come.”
